Unless Matt LeBlanc lives in an addiction-free bubble, he knows what borrowing money means to an addict. That means he knows what it means to leave a comment ribbing a pal about borrowing money. That’s especially so with a pal like Matthew Perry, whose very death can’t be settled until all the drug tests have been done. And yet, what does Leblanc do? Rubs it in.
“And I guess you’re keeping the 20 bucks you owe me”…
To many folks the comment may look innocuous. But any one in the addiction arena will know it pertains to borrowing money for drugs. It must. Even if it doesn’t,it must. After all, that’s what obsessed Perry for most of his life.
“And I guess you’re keeping the 20 bucks you owe me” takes on a whole new meaning when you consider it pertains to drug money.
No, Matt, you won’t be getting that 20 back. But was it so important you had to mention it in your final reveal? Sure says a lot about what you thought about your “friend”.
As a matter of fact, LeBlanc’s entire message is smarmy. “Spread your wings and fly brother you’re finally free”? That doesn’t sound very supportive, does it? Unless you’re supporting his death. Was Perry supposed to make an afterlife comeback or something?
Because that’s what it sounds like. That you were supporting his dying.
Funny, but LeBlanc could find no other incident that left an impression quite like that $20. Those “favorite times of his life” must not have been so indelible. Nor was the honor of twenty years of sharing the stage. Leblanc says he’ll never forget, but it seems as if he’s already forgotten.
Well, forgotten about everything but that $20 bill.
What a wanker.
It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye. The times we had together are honestly among the favorite times of my life.
It was an honor to share the stage with you and to call you my friend. I will always smile when I think of you and I’ll never forget you. Never.
Spread your wings and fly brother you’re finally free. Much love.
And I guess you’re keeping the 20 bucks you owe me.
